Joseph Michael Riley, beloved father and grandfather passed away on August 1, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 81. He was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on April 2, 1940, the oldest of two children born to the late Michael William and Mary Catherine Riley.
Joe was the owner of Riley’s Mobile Home Sales and Service for over 25 years, a company he proudly ran with late sister Kathleen Riley.
Later in life he may have been found at a garage sale, looking for things to tinker with or horse trading for anything that he thought was a good deal. He spent countless hours looking for silly gifts he thought would make his grandchildren smile, hunting the snack isle at the local grocery store or roaming the city in search of the best microbrew; always with his cherished dog London in tow.
Family and friends were extremely important in his life. He welcomed strangers into his home no different that he would a lifelong friend. One of the wisest men around, you could always count on him to know the answer to any questions you had, no matter how random.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; loving children Anne Riley of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Erin (Bob) Book of Rush Colorado; precious grandchildren Emma, Jessa and Robby.
Services will be held Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 1 pm to 1:30 pm, at Swan Law Funeral Home 501 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
