James Walter Thomas was born February 11, 1940 in Wallins Creek, Kentucky to Martha and Steve Thomas. Walter went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2014, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Wallins Creek High School in Wallins Creek, Kentucky. Walter also attended Eastern State University in Kentucky and University of Dayton, Ohio, Mead Corp Tech School also in Dayton, Ohio. Walter was also an ordained minister with Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. Walter is survived by his wife Penny, of 54 years, his sons, James Walter II and Jeffrey Scott, four grandsons, 5 great- grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. Walter is going to join his daughter Elisabeth Jane in Heaven. He is also preceded by one brother and one sister. Walter enjoyed going to classic car shows, football and traveling. He also wrote songs and poems in his spare time. He loved to read and study the word of the Lord as a teacher and minister.
Our love started for each other October 31, 1959, Walter and I always said our marriage was ordained and blessed from God.
