Sgt. James W. Stone was a decorated Vietnam Veteran Marine from 1963-1969, serving with the first 3500 Marines to land in Vietnam in 1965 to defend the U.S. Airbase at Da Nang. James was an honorary lifetime member of the “Retired Military Association” in Fayetteville, NC and retired electrician from Reaves Electric in Fayetteville.
James was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Mary Stone and son Scott Stone. He is survived by wife Millie, sisters Mary Ann Lambert and Husband Don, Carolyn Laws and husband Frank, daughter Rhonda Freeman and husband Tony, and 2 grandchildren
