Dear Steve and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of your dad's passing- I had been out of town.  I know you will greatly miss his presence, conversations and pearls of wisdom!  He was our special friend, neighbor, mentor, confidant and "member" of our family for over 40 years!  I remember the time he locked his RV keys inside the camper and came to "borrow" one of the girls (very young at the time) to crawl through it's little window to retrieve the keys!  Another time he came with his "sheriff spotlight" as described by my daughter, to help us look for our dog who had gone missing late one night!  We found her thanks to him! :)
I will miss his smile , warm hugs, and  hearty laugh greatly and think of his words of wisdom often!  We were blessed to have him and Darlene come into our lives and share their love with us! Please keep in touch - I would love to come to the service when held in the future.

I began working with Howard just over a year ago.  I met him through a mutual friend and began cleaning for him, but it was much more than cleaning for me.  It was spending time listening to his stories, helping him find this or that, and learning life lessons from him.  He always made me laugh and he was always concerned about my family and always gave out wisdom.  He was so sharp minded.  I enjoyed his friendship.  He will be greatly missed.

I'm the Director of Development at Tri-Lakes Cares - Haley Chapin, our Executive Director, and I had the pleasure on several occasions to meet Howard. He was a faithful supporter of the work that we do in helping those who are struggling in our local community to feed their families or make ends meet.  

He toured our building a few years ago and was impressed with what we did. I loved hearing him tell his life story and enjoyed speaking with him on the phone. He was always so gracious and had a wonderful sense of humor.

The world has lost a gentle soul - may angels wing him to eternal rest.

Many years working with Howard at Mountain View Electric Assn,

he will be missed.  Many memories exist ,too many to mention here.

Howard was a great friend at our shared community at Lutheran Homes.  I always acknowledged Howard on verterans day and he always returned the same to me.  He was like a grandfather figure to me as I had lost mine many years ago.  We shared stories food and yes a good glass of bourbon as well.  Howard was a man of great character, honesty and God loving may he rest in peace in the arms of Jesus job well done faithful servant.
