Gary Morris Mooney

Gary Morris Mooney was born on April 10, 1939 in Whitman, Nebraska to Garland and Thelma Mooney. He moved to Colorado Springs where he met Shirley (Moon) Mooney. They were married in Colorado Springs on July 3, 1958.

Gary loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family. One of his passions was working in his vegetable and flower gardens.

He will be best remembered for his local business Mooney’s Battery that he operated for more than 30 years.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Debra (husband, Craig) Osban; and his brother, Gerald Mooney. He had four wonderful grandchildren, Jake, Danielle (Kevin), Cody, and Samantha (Andrew). Gary also had four rambunctious great grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Levi, and Cole.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, siblings, and son.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
