Elena "Elaine" Taylor passed away at the age of 92 years on October 28, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Elaine was born on January 15, 1922 to Charles and Faustina Ramick in Fordyce, Arkansas. She grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas. Elaine met her husband, Ed, at college in Bethany, Oklahoma. They were married on May 31, 1942. Elaine was a homemaker in San Diego, California and a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the past 25 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin. She was a superb cook, an avid reader, and was also an accomplished seamstress, who created beautiful clothing, cross-stitch quilts, and embroidered blankets that will remain as legacies of her talents and love.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her sister, Nelda Sanders; her brothers, Conrad and Gerald; her sisters-in-law, Marie and Evelyn; her parents, and other extended family. She is survived by her daughter, Patrice Taylor Jacobs; her sons, Kent and Tim Taylor; her daughters-in-law, Wendy Schall and Laura Taylor; a former son-in-law, Greg Jacobs; her grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Reeve, Cody, Shenandoah, Erin and Joe, and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Elaine Taylor would like to express its appreciation for the care and concern given her, and her family, by Brookdale Broadmoor, formerly Emeritus at Broadmoor, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, and Swan-Law. Her service and interment will be private in accordance with Elaine's wishes. Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's name to Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
