Don Alan “Mo” Frederick, Attorney at Law, age 52, long time Colorado Springs resident, peacefully went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2017. His loving parents were by his side when he passed.
Donnie was born on September 20th, 1965 in Colorado Springs to Donald and Ann Frederick. Donnie spent most of his first 10 years living on Rock Creek Mesa. He and his friends enjoyed the outdoors playing on the south side of Cheyenne Mountain.
In 1976, our family moved to North Pole Alaska, a suburb of Fairbanks. There he attended North Pole Junior – Senior High School. He excelled in school, participated in drama, musicals, played hockey and soccer. He graduated with honors in 1984 from North Pole High School. He received The Harvard Book Award, a scholarship and attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During his freshman year at Harvard, he was given the nickname “Mo”, because he was from Alaska and that was short for Eskimo. That nickname stuck with him forever. Donnie graduated from Harvard in 1988.
In 1989 Donnie attended The University of Denver, College of Law. Upon receiving his Juris Doctor Degree from law school, he primarily practiced Family Law for 25 years. Then in May of 2017, he was recruited by the Gasper Law Group to become one of their Associate Attorneys. This was his “Dream Job”, which he loved dearly. He remained at the Gasper Law Group until he passed.
Donnie is survived by his parents Don and Ann, his only first cousin Stacey Westrick and her family in Michigan. He is also survived by many cousins in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, New York and many friends from all over the world. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert A. and Dorothy A. Martin, his grandmother Norma C. Frederick and an uncle Robert G. Frederick.
Donnie became a Christian at an early age and continued to serve the Lord, his Church and the community throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Rocky Mountain Calvary, 4285 N Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs Colorado 80918. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service.
