Diane retired in 1994 after a 27 year highly successful Civil Service career with the Department of the Air Force and the Department of Defense. Her last position was that of Deputy Director for Human Resources with the Defense Information Technology Service Organization (DITSO) in Englewood, CO. After retirement she worked as a Real Estate Broker with the developer of the Broadmoor Resort Community in Colorado Springs.
She was an avid skier, enjoyed golf, walking and held a private pilot’s license for many years. She was a volunteer with the Friends of Cheyenne Canyon.
Born in North Platte, Nebraska on February 7, 1943, Diane was preceded in death by her parents Marland (Joe) and Maxine (King) Edgar; her brothers, Wallace (USN) and Harry and sister, Marilyn. She is survived by her husband, John Stafford on Colorado Springs; her sons, Brad (Carol) Bishop, John (Marsha) Bishop, Greg (Kathleen) Stafford and a daughter, Cindy (Bob) Nicholas. She also leaves behind a sister, Lynda and brothers, Mike, Stewart, Mark, Bob and Jim. She is survived by eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Emeritus @ Broadmoor memory care facility and the staff of Evercare Hospice and Palliative Care for their assistance during Diane’s journey. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 5th at the Broadmoor Community church, 315 Lake Avenue in Colorado Springs.
