David M. Copeland, age 37, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away October 6, 2023. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany to Howard and Carla Copeland. He came to Colorado Springs at age two with his older brother, Christopher, and has lived in Colorado Springs ever since.
David worked to reach the rank of Eagle Scout and was a passionate entrepreneur. After graduating from Mesa Ridge High School, he opened up Allstar Paintball in downtown Colorado Springs. He adored playing paintball and became a professional player and a professional team owner. He founded FlyHi Photography in 2020 and it has quickly grown from a real estate photography business to a multifaceted media company. His rapid success was indicative of his big heart and the personal care he put into the clients, whom he cared about deeply.
David and his lovely wife, Kimy, were a “match made in heaven.” They had a fairy tale wedding in Eleuthera, Bahamas and traveled often. They loved their church, and supported numerous philanthropic causes (see below).
David was a lovable, beautiful, gentle man who cared about everyone. He had the ability to light up a room with his vibrant energy and magnetic smile. His heart belonged to his wife, and all could tell he only had eyes for her. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Kimy, his proud parents, Howard and Carla, his loving grandmother, Anita, his strong brother, Christopher, a devoted cousin, loving in-laws and many, many friends, all whom he loved immensely. David’s passing has left a deep hole in many hearts, but we have God’s promise that we will see him again on the other side of glory.
A Celebration of Life: Friday, October 20, 2023, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Doors open at 10:30am at Boot Barn Hall, 13071 Bass Pro Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80921. David will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery privately with family.
