David C Bryan passed away in Colorado Springs on March 30, 2012. He was 85 years of age. David was born in Dunlap, Iowa, where he met the love of his life Edna, whom he was married to for 62 years. He joined the Merchant Marines at age 17 and traveled around the world twice during his service. He later served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Camp Carson. After being discharged, he never left Colorado Springs. He owned and operated a concrete construction company for 17 years. He then founded Carefree Homes and for 30 years built fine custom homes and apartments in the region. He and Edna raise three boys, all in the construction business.
Gary Bryan and wife Wendy live in Costa Mesa CA., Randy Bryan and wife Aelee reside in Irvine CA., and Scott and Theresa Bryan reside in Colorado Springs. He was a grandfather to five grandchildren, Andrea (Garnett), Michael, Ellie, Eric and Wyatt. David is preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Silver Key Senior Services or Pikes Peak Hospice.
