Daniel Matthew O’Connell, aged 71 years, of Colorado Springs, passed away on 30 December 2021. He was born 5 August 1950 to Brian and Catherine O’Connell, and has 2 siblings, Brian and Mary. Dan is survived by his wife, Maggie, and their four amazing children: Danny, Becky, Shannon, and Katie. He has been blessed with one granddaughter as well, named Charlie. Dan and Maggie met in Baumholder, Germany, and were married in 1983. He enjoyed a distinguished 33-year career in the United States Army as a weapons systems technical expert. He retired in 2003 as a Chief Warrant Officer. In retirement, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved dog Georgie. At Dan’s request a memorial service will not be held. In lieu of sending flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation in Dan’s memory to the charity of their choice.
