Claude Silas Vigil, 45, passed away in the early morning hours of December 20, 2021 at UCHealth Memorial in Colorado Springs due to complications of COVID. Claude was born on January 27, 1976, the son of Claude and Geraldine Vigil. The second-born child of four, he grew up in Walsenburg, CO where he graduated from John Mall High School in 1994. Claude had a fun-loving personality, he was kindhearted, caring and a friend to many. He had a great sense of humor always making the atmosphere a little lighter. He was known for his love of cars, fishing, camping and in his younger days riding his motorcycle. His greatest passion was being a mechanic. Claude was highly valued for his knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair vehicles. Claude is survived by his five children, Shahala Vigil, Sheree Vigil, Silas Martinez, Devan Vigil, Darren Vigil and four grandchildren Thea, Leo, King and Emberley. He is also survived by his sister Melanie (Mike) Medina, brothers Richard Vigil, Nicholas Vigil, two nieces, Mariah and Kaetlyn and two nephews, Richard Jr. and Caden. Preceding Claude in death are his parents and grandparents. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Claude will be held on January 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Walsenburg.
