Charles Curtis Darr went to be with his Lord on June 13, 2018. He was born on a farm near Palmyra, Iowa on May 22, 1924 to Eugene and Maude Darr. He served during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1947 where he met Margaret Heyer. They married in 1948 and celebrated 65 years together. She preceded him in death in May 2013.
He is survived by 6 children: Bonnie Blair (Ron), Fort Collins, Co., Patty Kennard (Merle), Salem, Or., Stephen (Paula), Yoder, Co., Timothy, Lakewood, Co., Emilie Arambula (Andy), Indianapolis, Valerie Kahre (Duane), Colorado Springs. He had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He ministered for his Lord for 63 years; 33 of those years, he also served as chaplain for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department.
Viewing will take place at Mountain View Mortuary on Tuesday, June 19th from 3 to 7 p.m., Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20th at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Covenant Bible Chapel, 1311 Columbine Blvd., Colorado Springs. Private entombment will take place at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Colorado Springs.
