In 1975, his family moved to Elizabeth, CO, then to Colorado Springs in 1977 where he grew up enjoying family camping, boating and fishing trips at many of the lakes in Colorado. Cayse was on the wrestling team and lettered in football at Falcon High School. He then went on to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs majoring in Business Administration before entering the working world, initially in the restaurant industry and most recently with Tech for Less in Colorado Springs for over 12 years until leaving in 2022 due to health issues.
Cayse loved to play his guitar and participate in fantasy football. In his earlier years he was good at street hockey and hacky sack. He was an avid Broncos and Avalanche fan, and many will remember his passion to enter into a lively debate on current issues.
He is survived by his mother Donna Ray, step-father Patrick Buckingham, brother Joe (Treava) Ray, step-brothers Sean, Brett, Ryan and Cheyney, sisters Glenda Ray Mawae and Janell Ray along with many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as the love of his life Amanda Hornseth.
Cayse is preceded in death by his father Don A. Ray and sister Jorja Ray.
In honoring Cayse’s wishes, there will be no services. His ashes, along with his father’s, will be taken up to his favorite Colorado lake area, Twin Lakes.
Please join us for a joyous celebration of Cayse’s life and wearing your Broncos or Colorado Avalanche jerseys or shirts would bring a smile to Cayse’s face on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
