Carolyn was born in Lynwood, CA to Elzie and Alma (Hudson) Lowrance. Carolyn spent her early years in Compton, CA. She attended First Baptist School and enjoyed her time there, especially the Christmas festivities and the summer camps. She later moved to Lakewood, CA where she attended and graduated from Lakewood High School. She loved the beach, surfing and most especially dancing. She had fond memories of going to the Cinnamon Cinder in North Hollywood and following her cousin Joe’s rock band around the Los Angeles area.
Carolyn married William Brady in March of 1965 and began a family. After growing up in California, they made the move to Colorado in 1970 to be closer to Carolyn’s parents and sister’s family. William and Carolyn divorced in 1979. Carolyn married Paul Romero in 1984 and he became the love of her life.
Carolyn excelled at many professions. She worked at Hewlett Packard, the mortgage industry and car sales. In 1980, she was awarded sales person of the year which was historic for a woman to receive at that time. She was a true pioneer as a woman in the car business.
Carolyn’s world centered on her family. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Beetham (Scott) and Karen Wilcox (Edward) and her son Michael Brady. She also was proud Marmie to 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Carolyn enjoyed sports throughout her entire life. She took great pride in watching her grandkids participate in many activities. She watched her grandson Scott play football, her granddaughters Emily and Rachel in basketball and volleyball (often giving the refs a piece of advice from the sidelines!) and her granddaughter Sarah perform in dance.
Carolyn made friends so easily and she had many. No matter what you needed, Carolyn was always there to listen, help or offer her works of wisdom, compassion or “fire and fury” if necessary!
Carolyn will always be remembered for her great love of Christmas. She was famous for her decorating and her baking. Marmie’s Christmas cookies will be missed.
Carolyn is being welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Elzie and Alma, her younger brother Steve, her brother in law Bill Quillen and her nephew Jerry Lowrance.
Carolyn touched many with her true love of life.
