Brett Allen Kiger, 23 died unexpectedly on September 29, 2012 in Colorado Springs. The son of Gary and Tammy Kiger, he was born September 11, 1989. A native of Colorado Springs, Brett graduated from Air Academy High School in 2008 where he was an active member of Younglife. He then attended Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction where he majored in Construction Management and played on the hockey team. In 2012 he moved back to Colorado Springs and was currently attending Pikes Peak Community College. He was awaiting his acceptance into Colorado State University Pueblo, with plans to graduate in May 2013.
Brett was a true sportsman and loved the great Colorado outdoors. Some of Brett's favorite activities were all types of hunting, lake fishing, fly fishing and riding ATVs and motorcycles. More than anything Brett loved spending his free time with friends and family. To know Brett, was to love Brett. He had the biggest heart, the biggest smile and he gave the best hugs. He always put everyone else before himself and his love for others and passion for life was contagious. Brett lived life to the fullest and loved living life on the edge.
Brett is survived by his parents Gary and Tammy Kiger, and his sister, Morgan Kiger. Grandparents Richard and Doris Kiger, and Reverend Gene Anderson; He was adored by his aunts and uncles including: Mark and Katie Anderson, Rick and Jackie Kiger, Rick and Sandy Swatek, and Ed and Joy Hunter. Brett was also deeply loved by all his cousins including: Nick Kiger, Chris Kiger, Mark Allen Anderson, Michael Anderson and Larissa Swatek. He was preceded in death by his grandmother May Anderson.
Brett touched many lives with his bright smile and positive outlook on life. He will be welcomed in heaven and missed deeply on earth.
Visitation is on Wednesday, October 3rd from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 5055 El Camino Dr. There will be a reception to honor Brett's life following the burial at the Colorado Springs Country Club, 3333 Templeton Gap Rd.
