Rico Campos, 24, of Colorado City lost his battle with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy after having defied all odds on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in the Hendrick Hospice Center of Abilene with his loving family at his side.
Rico was born on March 4, 1995 in Abilene, Texas to Albert Campos and Elia Aguilar.
Rico was a happy go lucky, big hearted man who loved his family with all of his heart, especially his niece and nephew. He was the type of man that loved everyone, could make friends with ease and never met a stranger. Rico had many passions in life, especially his music, he had an eclectic tastes in music and when he liked a song he knew all its details such as who the artist is, the meaning of the songs and who first sung them. He was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Antonio Spurs, and of TCU sports. When he wasn’t watching a game or listening to music he was watching a movie. Rico was a fighter till the end, beating the odds, and proving doctors wrong for many years.
Rico is survived by his mother Elia Aguilar of Colorado City, by his father Albert Campos of Winters, by a brother Albert Campos Jr. of San Angelo, a sister Sarah Nicole Campos of Kapolei, Hawaii, and by a niece and nephew Natalia Kamalei Box and Pharaoh Bane Rox. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rico will be held at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 am with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
The family will be present for a visitation at Kiker Seale Funeral Home on Monday, October 21st from 6-8 pm in in the chapel with a Rosary to be held at 7pm.
