A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at New Life Bible Ministries in Colorado City with Pastor Paul Smith officiating.
Richard was born to Altis “Puny” Clemmer and Mary Lucile Ramsey Clemmer on August 11, 1945 in Colorado City. He grew up and went to school in Westbrook where he joined the workforce alongside his dad at the age of eleven beginning a long love affair with the West Texas Oil Fields. He married his soulmate Charlotte Jeanne Nelson on October 18, 1965 in Westbrook. He worked as a Security Officer, a Butcher, a Truck Driver and a Sales Manager before heading back into the Oilfield to own and operate a Vacuum Truck service in Big Spring for close to thirty years. As a private pilot, he owned his own plane for years and he loved to fly. He also loved to coach baseball, fish, hunt, play golf, weld, and spend time with family. Later in life, he enjoyed tending to his donkey farm and leather work. He crafted many items for family and friends. In the last years, what he loved most was watching television with his wife, with is dogs in his lap; visiting and telling stories to anyone who dropped by and filling his grandkids full of candy.
Richard is preceded in death by his dad, Altis Clemmer; his mom, Lucile Clemmer; and his big brother, Curtis Lee Clemmer.
Richard is survived by his wife, Charlotte Jeanne Clemmer; his son, Curtis Wade Clemmer and wife Shannon of Fruita, Colorado; his daughter, Stacey and husband Sean Knowlton of Westbrook; Grandson Kristoffer Ariola and wife Taylor of Austin, Texas, Grandson Mason “Big Mack” Knowlton of Westbrook; Granddaughter, Rebecca Knowlton and Shane Warren of Beckley, West Virginia; Grandson, Zane Clemmer of Westbrook, Grandsons, Easton “Quatro”, Josiah, and Jadis Clemmer of Fruita, Colorado; and Great-Grandson Tanner Stewart Ariola of Austin, Texas; and Amy and L.P. Rasche of Westbrook.
