Mr. Phil Chandler, age 78, of Colorado City, died Tuesday evening, April 22, 2014, in a Lubbock Hospital. Services will be at 2 PM Friday, April 25, 2014, in the New Life Bible Ministries with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Phil was born on March 21, 1936 in Brownfield, TX to Clyde L and Hazel Henslee Chandler and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1997. He married Florinda Walls on September 3, 1998 in Colorado City. He retired from Yoakum County after 22 years of service and he was a member of the New Life Bible Ministries in Colorado City.
He is survived by his wife, Florinda Chandler of Colorado City, a son, Tony and wife Donna Chandler of Midland; a daughter, Liz Chandler of Plains; 3 step daughters: Sylvia and husband Steve Northcutt of Andrews, Sandra and husband Adolfo Chaves of Santa Fe, NM and Adella and husband Jason Luther of Denver City; a step son, Robert and wife, Brenda Walls of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Winston and wife, Ollie Chandler of Amarillo and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Walser.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his step father, Carl Walser, and 2 brothers: Ricky Walser and Doug Walser.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
