He was born February 22, 1950, in Colorado City to Grady Waddell and Geraldine Posey Strain.
Eddie lived for farming and ranching and passed that love down to his children. He put a lot of trust in them, believing no matter the task at hand they could do it. He had a love for auctions, in his eyes nothing was junk and everything had potential. Eddie lived simply but loved deeply. If someone was in need he would find a way to help them out, never expecting anything in return. He was a man of few words, but you always knew what he was thinking. One of his greatest joys in life was having his grandkids at the ranch with him, making memories and spending time together.
Eddie is survived by his two sons Jeremy and wife Machelle Strain, Coty and wife Emily Strain and daughter Mandy and husband Mike Barkley, and his children’s mother Roxie Strain. Grandchildren Cole, Tanner, Landon, Brenlye, Kezlye and Tatelye Strain, Brandon, Braxton and Easton Barkley. Brother Larry and wife Pati Strain, sister Jerry Dell and husband Jimmy Haggerton. Also, numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Waddell and Geraldine Strain.
