He was born on December 2, 1950 in Magnolia, Arkansas to John Frank Morgan and Margaret Ann Neeley Morgan. They moved to Colorado City, TX within the next year. He married Adele Wright on October, 11, 1975 in Center, TX.
Dan was a very well-liked and respected member of Mitchell County for many years. Almost everybody knew him from his over 38 years working for Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Mitchell County. He was a man who believed in love for family and his community. He was a devoted husband, a great father, and the best grandfather a child could ask for and beloved friend to many. He enjoyed a good BBQ with family and friends, catching up on the latest developments in their lives and cracking a good joke just to get them laughing and feeling happy. He was a man who enjoyed country living, taking care of cattle, doing a bit of ranching and in his younger days participating in rodeos. In his spare time, he could be seen wood-working, making book shelves and toy boxes for his grandchildren and for those he held near and dear to his heart. Even after losing his vision he persevered, going to work each day, and finding new ways to enjoy his passions. He enjoyed listening to books, the Dallas Cowboys, and Friday night lights with the Wolves.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Adele Morgan, his son Dan Morgan II and his wife Venisa of Lubbock and their children Jack, Reid and baby girl arriving soon, and by his daughter Anjanette Anders and husband Dustin of San Saba and their children Riley and Jaxon. He is also survived by his brother James Morgan of Colorado City and sister Susanne Morgan of Temple, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother John Frank Morgan Jr.
A memorial service for Dan will be held on Friday, March 16th at 3 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home, and a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 6-8 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
