Born March 24th, 1941 in Sudan Texas, she was the daughter of George Harvey and Bessie Mayfield Collins. She was one of thirteen children.
Bessie was a very intellectual woman who managed several businesses to success and even owned her own restaurant in Levelland,Tx. She loved to cook and kept many different books filled with the most amazing recipes.
Bessie was a most gracious and proud woman, focused on building a life full of love for all of those around her. She was referred to as ‘Meemaw’ by her beloved grandchildren.
In her spare time, Bessie often crafted the most beautiful quilts and blankets, and enjoyed a good game of dominos too. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see her sitting down for a puzzle, for which she’d stay to finish until completion. She loved music and could often be heard humming a tune.
She had a kind spirit. Gardening with her grandchildren and picking flowers were among her favorite pastimes as well. Her love for butterflies was beautiful, and never faltered. She was a nurturer at heart and was always happy to lend a helping hand.
She will be dearly missed and cherished, heart and soul.
Bessie is survived by her husband James Franklin Lamb of Colorado City, her brother George
Harvey Collins, her sisters Rosalie Priscilla Collins, and Patricia Ann Collins. By sons Mike Moore and wife Sue of Sonora,Tx; Rusty Moore of Sierra Blanca,Tx, and James H.
