Luis So passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 4, 2018, after a life well lived. He was the caring and much loved husband of Grace, the proud and inspirational father of Ben and daughter-in-law Joyce, the delighted grandfather of Max, the unselfish protective brother to Edy, Minda, Fely, Emy, Anita, Jr, Polly, Tess, and the thoughtful uncle to Melinda, Marilou, Paul, Tina, Kathy, Hank, Lynn, Kevin, Rebecca; and grand nephew Bradley, all of whom adored him.
Luis was a first generation San Franciscan and life long resident of the city. He came to the United States to study for his Masters and met his future wife, Grace, while studying. In 1978 they opened their own real estate business, U.S. Continental Investment Realty Corporation in San Francisco. Their office has been open for over 40 years and remains open to this day. Luis was a life long educator, avid reader, and student. He mentored and taught over a hundred new agents and collectively his office served thousands of families, helping them to achieve their real estate dreams.
Luis was a strong, gregarious type, with a keen sense of humor, who put love for his family above all other endeavors. He was gracious, energetic, and generous to a fault. Luis loved exploring, photography, and film. He relished being a generous host to dear friends and family, taking particular pride in his ability to entertain and share stories.
Luis enriched the lives of those he touched and he holds an important place in the lives and hearts of his dear family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
Our family wishes to express gratitude to everyone and especially Nancy, Bette, and Donna for helping in so many ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Luis So be made to: Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, c/o Institutional & Planned Giving - Cardiology Research, 1800 Harrison Street, 25th Floor, Oakland, CA 94612.
