September 2, 1930 – March 23, 2020
JANE JUE YICK passed away peacefully in San Francisco on March 23, 2020 at the age of 90. Born to Soo Hoo and Jake Jue in Hoy Ping, China, Jane was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her brother Danny and her parents.
Jane is survived by her children, Steven, Andrew (May) and Anthony, her adored grandchildren Jillian, Ryan and Jeremy, her siblings Toy Lan, Willie (Julie), Harry (Karen) and Helen, brother in law King, sister in law Sonia and nephews and nieces Alex, Teresa (Richard), Stella (Albert), David (Madeleine), Shirley (Raymond), Darryl (Kerry), Rita (Dan), Grant (Vanessa), Jason (Jessica), Dyron, Aaron (Serene), Oyming (Eric), Duhang (Emily) and a large extended family.
After immigrating to the Southern California town of Santa Paula, Jane moved to San Francisco after marrying Thomas in 1958 where she resided in North Beach until her passing. Jane’s greatest joy was her family whom she always put first in thoughts and deeds.
For decades, Jane resided with three generations in the family home, unwaveringly cared for each family member and meticulously prepared daily multi-course dinners for ten. Jane delighted in her three grandchildren and as their daily caregiver from infancy through their formative years, Jane and her grandchildren forged deep bonds that only strengthened with time. Jane traveled with her children and grandchildren on numerous national and international trips and made many happy memories that we will always cherish and celebrate.
Jane will be missed deeply and remembered fondly for her selfless, humble, and loyal nature, positive energy and engaging smile.
As a devout Buddhist, Jane devoted her life to compassionately sharing and caring for others and volunteered many hours, giving back to the community she loved.
Due to the current pandemic, a simple family service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on April 8, 2020.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe for all to attend.
