William Lee Yearwood

Bill was blessed with and is survived by his loving daughter, Leah Nicole Yearwood of Chattanooga, as well as his sister Kay Yearwood Paul (Joe Paul) of Collierville and sister Carrie Chadwick of Memphis. Bill is proceeded in death by his mother, Bettye Scott Marshall. Father, Donald Freeman Yearwood, Sr. and brother, Donald Freeman Yearwood, Jr.

Bill’s family moved from the family farm in Fayetteville, TN to Lexington, Ky during in his preschool years. Bill graduated from Bryan Station High School and attended College at the University of Kentucky and University of Virginia.

In his early college years, Bill worked as a Cake designer, he decorated very elaborate cakes in Lexington Ky. Bill was an avid Chess player, competing online with people from all over the word. Bill loved to fish; he knew how to catch the big ones. He was proud of his catch in Key West, Fla when he caught a 76 Lb., 90-inch Sailfish. He was named “Lunker of the year” by Bluff City Bassmaster’s, with a catch of a 5.15 Bass. He loved all kind of music and played a guitar and the saxophone. Bill was an artist; he enjoyed his creativity with oils and recently started working in watercolors. Bill was often seen with his buddies riding Harley’s on the weekends.

Bill was a licensed mechanical engineer. In 1988 he founded his HVAC company, Bill Yearwood Heat and Air, in Collierville, TN. In the beginning years many recognized his blue truck and later his white truck with his name on the side. Bill prided himself by providing quick help to his customers, in Collierville and surrounding areas, solving their issues for 34 years. Bill will be missed by his loyal customers and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the United Methodist Church, Sanctuary on the Square. The family invites all his family and friends to a visitation with the family, at 1:00pm with the service at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
