Sue Rutledge Elder Pulliam, 87, passed away August 1, 2022 in Collierville, Tennessee. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was an avid photographer and enjoyed learning to ride horses. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gillie Rutledge and Eileen Jackson Rutledge; her first husband, Raymond Leslie Elder and her second husband, John David Pulliam; son, Steven Leslie Elder; sister, Fran Rutledge Dilliard and brother, John Alfred Rutledge.
She is survived by daughters, Julia Ruth Elder Brewer (Samuel) and Kathy Elder Allison; step-daughter, Ann Murray (Steve); step-sons, David Pulliam (Sandra) and Wray Pulliam (Miriam); twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 3 from 5-7 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W Poplar Avenue, Collierville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at New Bethel United Methodist Church, 3730 TN-194, Rossville, Tennessee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Pulliam may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
