Mary G. Neal

MARY G. NEAL, 83, of Collierville, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Collierville. She was born May 5, 1930 in Trenton to the late Abraham and Beulah Fowler Glisson. Mary was a graduate of Peabody High School. She and her husband, Stanley T. Neal, made their home in Whitehaven and later moved to Collierville. Mrs. Neal was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where she was active in the Children’s Department, the W.M.U. and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed serving as a Past Worthy Matron in the Normal Whitehaven Chapter 43 of the Eastern Star. Along with her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Roberta L. Neal, Sherry F. Allen (Clayton) and Rosemary N. Hipps (Ken); three sisters, Nancy Pickard, Susie Innman and Charlotte Frazier; a brother, Ray Glisson; three grandchildren, Christy G. Phillips (Paul), David Griffin, Jr. (Heather) and Thomas N. Hipps; four great-grandchildren, Will and Nate Phillips, Tristan and Chase Hockenberry. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 4 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5 at 10 a.m. in the T. Carl Rutledge Memorial Chapel of Collierville Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Committal Services will be at 1 p.m. in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
