Kartha, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who brought warmth, kindness, and a resilient spirit to this world, departed on Sunday, November 19, at the age of 78 in Collierville, Tennessee. She leaves behind a lasting legacy marked by her deep love for family and friends and her nurturing impact on anyone she met.
Kartha was born on August 27, 1945 in Pine Bluff, AR. She graduated from Grady High School in 1963. After graduating college she pursued a career in education for many years.
Kartha was preceded in death by her parents, V.O. and Margie Johnson II. She is survived by her brother V.O. Johnson III his wife and children, her sons Michael Stires and wife and Steven Stires and wife and four grandchildren Sophia, Madison, Noah and Caden.
A memorial service of Kartha Kay Stires' life will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at Collierville Funeral Home at 3863 Bailey Station Rd. Collierville, TN 38017 . Friends and family are invited to join together to honor her remarkable life. Kartha will be laid to rest at Leek Cemetery in Star City, Arkansas next to her parents.
