When John Troy was a teen, he professed his Faith in Christ at Perryville Baptsist Church and was baptized in the Tennessee River. J.T. loved Jesus Christ, and he served for many years as an active member of Crossroads Methodist Church in Collierville, Tennessee. Later John and his wife Ann joined Collierville First Baptist Church.
John had a winsome personality and he touched countless lives with his smile and kindness. John worked as a tele-communications engineer and he retired from Lucent Technologies.
John Troy was preceded in death by his mother Wardell Wade Pump and step-father Fred Pump; his father Troy Jahu Phillips and step-mother Maurine Love Phillips.
John is survived by his loving wife, Ann B. Phillips; step-son Andy Brasher; step-daughter Tracey Harness; four grandchildren: Austen, Mason, Drew & Aaron; his brother Wade (DiAnne) Phillips; two sisters Andrea (Bennie) Bonds Harris and Brenda Landrum along with a healthy number of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, June 9th from nine o'clock in the morning until funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. all at Collierville Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. in Enville - Woodlawn Cemetery in Enville, Tennessee. All the services of the day will be led by his son Andrew Brasher.
