Fred Howard Medling

Fred H. Medling, 90, passed away in Collierville, TN. Thursday, January 15, 2015. Fred grew up in Greenfield, TN and played football at Memphis State. In addition to his love of all sports he also loved square dancing and bluegrass gospel music. He served as a referee for Shelby County and Memphis football and basketball. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked 38 years at Peoples Bank in Collierville. Fred was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where he taught Married Sunday School Class. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Medling, which passed away in 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Pat LaPradd; one son, Mike Medling; three grandchildren, Jennifer Denney (Nathan), Kyle Medling and Ty Medling; and one great grandchild, Easton Denney. Family will receive friends Saturday, January 17 at Collierville First Baptist Church from 5 to 7 pm. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday at the church beginning at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorials be made to Collierville First Baptist Church building fund, 830 New Byhalia Rd., Collierville, TN 38017.
