Seferino Fuentes, age 92, a longtime resident of Bedford, TX, passed away in the early hours of Friday, December 13. He was born August 26, 1932, in Riesel, TX, son to Arturo and Anastacia Fuentes. Seferino is preceded in death by both parents and his siblings, Candelario, Cecil, Arthur, James, William, Samuel, and Mary.
He loved baseball and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served overseas in Korea. After many years as a lead aircraft mechanic, he retired and found joy in a second career as a beloved school bus driver for the Carroll school district. Above all, he was the pillar of his family—a devoted patriarch whose guidance and presence shaped four generations. He was active in the lives of his many family members and friends, who will miss his wit, charm, and unwavering sense of loyalty. His legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia; his children, Evonne Boggs, Gary Fuentes, and Lisa Farless; his grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Shelby, Jacob, and Robert III; his great-grandchildren Connor, Charlotte, Zander, Jaxon, Paisley, Brooke, and Robert IV; his great-great-grandson Grayson; and siblings Albert Fuentes, Lydia Dashner and Linda Covarrubias.
Services will begin on Friday, December 20 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation starts at 5:00 pm, and vigil and rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 21 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside service and reception to follow.
