Robert “Bobby” Alan Wilbur, age 61, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Community Hospice, Fort Worth, Texas. He was born December 19, 1955 at Wichita, Kansas the son of Robert Elwyn and Marilyn (Vanderhoff) Wilbur. A resident of North Richland Hills since1988, he worked for Smurfit Kappa for the past twelve years as a truck driver. His family moved to Leoti, Kansas in 1967 where he grew up and helped with the family farm. Bobby then moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1982 where he worked for Halliburton. Bobby had many passions in life including fishing with his brother Larry, the mountains in West Virginia where we worked briefly, music, sports and raising kids! Bobby loved kids, he welcomed all the neighborhood kids into his home like they were his own. His door was always open to the countless numbers of children’s friends who would regularly come over, and sometimes, moved right in. Bobby enjoyed attending neighborhood barbeques where they would play, listen, and dance to music, Bobby enjoyed playing the harmonica as well. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and sports of all kind Bob was a man who worked hard, loved his family, and would give you the shirt off of his back. Bobby’s sense of humor was unmatched, he was an eternal optimist – a happy and kind man who made everybody laugh and always and always believed the best about people and that everything would work out for the best. Bobby married Terri LaRue Brack on February 28, 1976 at Leoti, Kansas. Bobby married Maria Innocente Morales on January 30, 1990 at Fort Worth Texas. Those left to cherish Bobby’s memory are: sons, Jorge and Kyle Rueles of Austin, Texas; Robert “Bobby” Wilbur, Brandon Wilbur and Kt Wright, Rogelio “Dada” Fernandez; daughter, Brianda Wilbur; grandson, Preston Deckich, all of North Richland Hills, Texas. His mother, Marilyn Wilbur; brothers, Gary and Beth Wilbur, Larry Wilbur, Mark and Barbie Wilbur; sister, Roxy and Janice Campas, All of Leoti, Kansas, sister Jeff and Mary Sterling of Garden City, Kansas Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Wilbur. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21, at 10:00 a.m. Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, Texas. .
