Lori Skiles Cornelissen

Lori Gwen Skiles Cornelissen, age 93, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Lori was born in Somerville County, Texas June 27, 1931. Her parents,

William D. Skiles and Beatrice I. Skiles of Cleburne. She was one of seven children.

She was predeceased by her spouse, Jack Cornelissen, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Lori and her husband Jack moved back to Bedford, Texas from South Bend, Indiana in 1981 and

set up housekeeping as they had done several times during their travels around

the country. Lori was an avid gardener and was well known in her neighborhood for the outstanding landscaping designs she developed around her home over the years. Her backyard was an oasis for visitors, birds and butterflies. You could usually find her in the yard doing what she loved. She maintained a small but prolific vegetable garden and flowers were everywhere you could look. She was considered a Master Gardner by all who knew her.

She was an active member of United Memorial Christian Church in Euless

SURVIVORS: Two sons, Rocky Walton and his wife Sharon of Arlington, Ron Walton and his wife Janie of Arlington, and daughter Denise McCormick and her husband Steve of North Richland Hills, and two step-sons, William and Edward Cornelissen of Ft. Worth. Grandchildren are, Ryan and Trent Walton, Stefani Hudman, Mason McCormick, Michelle McBride, Laura Gillespie, Ann Hutton, Roni Walton, Douglas, Lacy and Justin Cornelissen, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren..

A visitation for Lori will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034. A committal will occur Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034.
