She was born on December 7, 1949 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Wilton and Sara Holmgren.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, George W. Jensen of Southlake; her son, Adam Jensen of Arlington; her daughter, Dana Jensen of New York City; and her two sisters, Svea Hunt and Jan Evans.
Linda was an art major and member of Pi Beta Phi sorority at Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was known for her artistic spirit and colorful view of the world. It was during this time when she met a young man named George Jensen. The two were married in 1971 and after graduating, George and Linda remained in Virginia until the birth of their first child, Adam Michael, in 1973.
Afterward, Linda relocated with her husband to Grand Prairie, Texas. In 1976, she and George welcomed their second child, a daughter, Dana Christine, into the world. After the children left for college, Linda and George built their dream home in Southlake, Texas. They remained there for nearly 30 years.
A friend to many, Linda spent her life supporting her husband as he built a successful family business and was a perpetual advocate for her children in their many activities, such as marching band and theater. She was a life-long lover of cats, a trait which she passed down to both of her children.
Born with a charitable spirit, Linda helped support many non-profit organizations throughout the years, and was a true patron of the arts. One of her most enduring accomplishments was to establish the "Linda Holmgren Jensen Endowed Scholarship for the Arts", at her beloved Old Dominion University, which assists art majors with financial aid.
Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her sense of style, colorful personality, and her love of family. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas on August 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM, where friends and family will celebrate Linda’s life and legacy. Her wish was to be cremated with her ashes spread on the grounds of Old Dominion University, the site of the school she loved and the beginning of her marriage and future family.
