Jack R. Bivens

Jack was born to Laurence and Nellie Bivens on December 27, 1934 in Brookfield, Missouri. During his grade school years, he was baptized at United Brethren Church, Brookfield. He graduated Brookfield High School in 1952. Jack served our country in the Army from 1957 to 1959. His 38 year career with the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railway/Burlington Northern Railroad took him to Chicago, Denver, St. Paul and Fort Worth.

On February 6, 1960, Jack married Joyce Darlyne Hillmer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Brookfield, Illinois. They spent a lifetime together. Jack was blessed with two children, Karen and David.

He is survived by wife, Joyce Bivens; daughter, Karen Marie Huffman of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son, David Mark Bivens of North Richland Hills, Texas; brother, Jeffrey Edward Bivens of Brookfield, Missouri. Preceded in death by sister, Alma Francis Shiflett; brother, Leonard Dean Bivens and Larry Gene Bivens.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11am at Peace Lutheran Church 941 Bedford-Euless Road; Hurst, Texas 76053 with visitation one hour prior to service. Entombment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
