Leon was born On January 6th, 1934 in Dallas Texas to Clarence Cole and Mildred Bell. He married his wife Barbara J. Cole on June 18th, 1955. Leon had a long career in construction and eventually owned his own company, Leon Cole Construction.
His hobbies included scuba diving, playing pool, coin collecting, vintage cars, antique shopping and bringing home odds and ends. Barbara never knew what he would come home with (including a small horse in the back seat floorboard much to Barbara’s dismay) dancing, playing the lotto and family. He was also a member of the Elks lodge.
Leon was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Cole; mother, Mildred Bell; brothers Henry, Jimmy and, John; sister, Evelyn; and daughter, Jolee Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Jean Cole of North Richland Hills; daughter, Barbara A. Cole of Addison, TX; son, Kenneth Leon Cole (Shannon) of North Richland Hills; brothers, William Frank Cole of Hillsboro, TX and Clarence ‘Curly’ Cole of Justin, TX; sister, Rose Riley of Justin, TX; as well as nine grandkids, 18 great grandkids and tons of nieces and nephews.
