Earl Edward Vander Schaaf, aged 62, passed away this last Sunday, December 10, 2023. Born on May 13, 1961 and raised in southern California, he grew up on the Vander Schaaf dairy farm. Earl moved to Grapevine, Texas and was the first employee at the Southlake Costco where he worked until his death.
Earl lived happily on the Four Winds Ranch with his wife Donna, where they were surrounded by their pet cockatiels, two cats, three dogs, six goats, five chickens, five horses and 16 head of cattle. Earl was a brilliant and compassionate rancher. He was incredibly happy with his ranching duties including but not limited to FISHING, BBQ and SHOOTING practice at his firing range.
Earl was preceded in death by his father Earl Arthur Vander Schaaf and grandson John Morris. He is survived by his wife Donna Vander Schaaf, his mother Elizabeth Vander Schaaf, Sisters Marie (Aubrey Killinger, Jardin and Breyann), Audrey (Rob Cole, RJ, Kearstin) Daughters Wesley (Alex Huezo), Amanda (David Morris), Son Dillon Vander Schaaf (Samantha), Step sons Dustin Ortiz (Christina), Dillon Ortiz and Grandchildren Eleanor and Opal Morris, Emily Ortiz, Noah Vander Schaaf, and Paisley and Marlow Huezo.
Earl leaves behind an incredible array of memories both heartfelt and irreverent. He has left a great void among family and friends that can never be filled. He was Deeply loved.
Final arrangements have been made through Bluebonnet Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX.
A Celebration of a life well lived, will be held at the Four Winds Ranch in mid January, the date has yet to be determined.
