Christina Mary Tomczak of Grapevine, Texas, passed away at home on Sunday, November 12th, 2017. She will be remembered as a loving, thoughtful and compassionate person to those around her. She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on September 24, 1946 to Jane M. and Henry P. Tomczak. She is survived by her sister Gloria Rollins of Tallahassee (Raleigh), niece Dr. Natalie West (Joel) of Baltimore, and their children Hayden and Harper and nephew Todd Elliott of Palm City.
Chris was a proud graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL in 1968 with a BS. degree in Finance. She received a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Philosophy from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. She was a professor of Philosophy, Ethics, and Religion at Cedar Valley Community College and at Dallas Baptist University for over 15 years. She was formerly a Bank Examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and also a Vice-President for Barnett Banks in Jacksonville, Florida.
Her family, friends from near and far, colleagues, neighbors as well as members of her Book Club and Bridge Club were special to her and gave her a wonderful sense of
friendship, joy and fulfillment. Chris loved her home in Grapevine, Texas, and enjoyed cheering for the numerous sports teams in Texas. She also enjoyed gardening, bridge, reading and travel.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, November 17th at Blue Bonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 18th at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bedford with a reception to follow before returning to Blue Bonnet Hills Funeral Home for committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to GRACE, Grapevine or to St. MIchael's Church liturgical fund.
