Carolyn Belle Bartsch

“Cacky” as she was known by family and friends was born in Sweetwater, Texas on October 24, 1933 to Joel Pinkney Boyd and Lillian Belle (Foster) Boyd. She grew up in Sweetwater and after graduating from Sweetwater- Newman High School she went to North Texas State University where she received her degree in Education. It was at NTSU that she met Robert (Bob) Richard Bartsch and they were married in Sweetwater on January 27, 1957. Cacky was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She never met a stranger and wanted to help anyone in need. Cacky was very involved with her children’s and grandchildren’s activities but was best known for her chocolate chip cookies! Despite her disabilities, Cacky never let it get her down and she amazed us all with her tenacity and ingenuity for performing daily activities that the rest of us take for granted.

Cacky is survived by her daughter Vicky Good and husband Steve; her son Mike Bartsch and wife Michelle; her son David Bartsch and husband Scott Collen; her grandchildren: Shannon Rich and husband Ryan, Sarah Wells and husband Ryan, Brad Bartsch and wife Lindsay, Kyle Bartsch, Lauren Baker and husband Chase; her great-grandchildren, Ronan, Corinne, Quinn, Samuel, Lucas and Brooklyn.; her nieces; Barbara Schnack, Donna Drerup, Karin Maney, Chrys Ealey and her nephew Kenneth Lynch; and her bonus grandchildren Amanda Collen and Averi Collen.

Cacky is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Robert Richard Bartsch, an infant daughter Carolyn Bartsch, her parents Joel Pinkney Boyd and Lillian Belle Foster Boyd and her sister Cornelia Boyd.

Our family would like to thank Avalon Memory Care in Keller and Ultimate Plus Hospice for their excellent care of our mom over the past 2 years.

A memorial service to celebrate Cacky’s life will be held on January 27, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church located at 941 Bedford-Euless Road, Hurst, TX. Visitation will start at 10:00am at the church with the Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00am.
