Dr. Daryle Whitney Morgan of College Station died of natural causes on June 20, 2024. A funeral service is set for 11:00am on Saturday, June 29, with viewing held at 10:00 to 10:45am. The service will be conducted by Bishop Brent Morgan at the Memorial Funeral Chapel, 2901 South Texas Avenue, in College Station.
Dr. Morgan was born on the 4th of November 1929 in Liberty, Idaho. He was a Korean Veteran in the U.S. Air Force and was a professor of Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University for 31 years from 1968 to 1999.
He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for his entire life. At 20 years of age, he was called to serve as a full-time missionary for two years in the Eastern States Mission, serving in Pennsylvania and New York. He served in many church positions, such as an ordained Bishop for 5 years for the TAMU Student Ward, and in 1997 he was ordained to serve as Patriarch for this central region of Texas. This is a lifetime calling of service to the members of many congregations in the region.
Daryle is survived by his wife of 72 years Ima Joan, 4 sons – David (Kim), Keith (Susan), Brian (LeeAnn), and Blair, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren (the first 5 being Quintuplets).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations may be made to the Dr. Daryle W. Morgan Endowed Student Scholarship, Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution Department, Texas A&M University, 106 Fermier Hall, 3367 TAMU, College Station, Texas 77843-3367.
