He was born on December 9, 1935, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
After over 30 years of service with the Ford Motor Company, Jerry retired, moving to Florida in 2002. He was a member of the Coastal Community Church and volunteered at the Port St. John Community Center’s Seniors at Lunch. Jerry was a lifelong amusement park fan; during his visits to Cedar Point he could always be found riding the tallest and fastest roller coasters. He loved all Detroit sports teams—The Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions and he was a longtime member of a bowling league. Most of all, Jerry loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Jean, and his son, Marty. He was also predeceased by his best friend, Buddy.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Gary (Linda), David (Terri), and Steven (Gypsy); his sister, Shirley (Don) Cuatt; grandchildren, Chad, Brad, Ally, Jessie, Kasey, Rachael, Bill and Jim; great-grandchildren, Lorna, Austin, Brooklynn, Carter, and Lucy; and his grand-pups, Mocha, River, and Sophie.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, from 3-5:30 pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Jerry will be buried next to his son, Marty, at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Jerry to the SPCA.
