Harvey was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, was a Structural Steel Ironworker for over 50 years working for Ivey Steel Construction and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was married for over 51 years to Jane Owen Dixon who preceeded him in death. Together they raised four children, Donna (Elbert) Martin, James (Lydia), Steve (Judy) and Scott (Krista). His legacy lives on in his many grandchildren; Melissa (preceededi n death), Joshua, Corey, Shawn, Kellie, Jeremy, Nicole, LB, Danielle and Shane; and great grandchildren; Laci, Aiden, Mason, Jason, Luke, Autumn and Leeanna. He also leaves behind many brothers and sisters who loved him dearly.
Services will start at 2:00pm and burial will follow immediately. Family and friends will gather at 4:00 at the Veterans Memorial Center, 400 Sykes Creek Pkwy., Merritt Island. In lieu of flowers, please send your donation to Health First Hospice or a charity of your choice.
