Ginger was born to Albert Eugene Stoffel and Marie Virginia Stoffel on July 17, 1944 in Houston, Texas. She was a 1963 graduate of S.P. Waltrip High school in Houston, Texas and she then attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.
She retired as a Telecommunications Officer after serving 18 years with The Oyster Creek Marshalls Office and Oyster Creek PD.
Ginger held many titles as mother, daughter, sister, and friend but her favorite title of all was, “Meme.” Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren. When not doing that, she could be found working puzzles or playing games.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald F. Gilliam, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Stoffel.
She is survived by her 3 children, daughter, Gwendolyn Martin and husband Richie of Aransas Pass, Texas, son, Donald Lee Gilliam, of Lake Jackson, Texas and daughter, Diane McDougald and husband David of Lake Jackson, Texas. 11 grandchildren, Tiffany Tipps and husband Steven, Dustin Gilliam, Tori Stanton, Ashlynn Schaatt and husband Zachary, Drake Stanton, Donald “DJ” Gilliam, Sabrina Schumann, Kamryn Billings, and Olivia McDougald. Her two bonus grandchildren, Audree Martin and Hunter McDougald. Last but not least, her two great-grandsons, Easton and Owen Tipps.
Ginger was the only sister to the 3 brothers she is survived by. Eugene “Gene” Stoffel and wife, Carolyn of Houston, Robert Stoffel of Houston, Richard Stoffel and wife Gayle of New Caney.
Ginger has requested a burial of her ashes be at Hillcrest Cemetery next to her late husband, Donald Gilliam.

A memorial service will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at 2 p.m. Following the service, her ashes will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.
