She was born in Freeport, TX on October 12,1956 to Leon William Giese and Wilma Jean Giese, who raised her in a home filled with love and happiness. She attended Brazoswood High School before going to work as a timekeeper for US Contractors where she worked for 40 years and made many lifelong friends.
Suzanne was a devoted mother to her only child, Katie. She was a rock throughout her life and stood by her daughter through thick and thin. She was a fiercely protective mother with a love that knew no bounds, and she was always there when needed.
Though she loved her daughter, her job, and her pets, Suzanne’s most treasured role was that of grandmother. She cherished her time with Karter and adored being his Nanna. She was always present for him at sporting events and loved being a caregiver to him. He was her main purpose in life and brought so much joy to the last five years.
Suzanne had a soft spot for all animals, but most especially her dogs, Hutch and Shyloe, who were ornery old men, and her cat, Poppy. To her, they were family members and were her faithful companions for the last 10 years.
Suzanne will always be remembered as a no-nonsense, hardworking, independent, strong woman who had the biggest heart and could be depended on for anything, anytime. She could do anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will miss Suzanne every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those that loved her.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her father, Leon William Giese, and her mother, Wilma Jean Giese, and is survived by her daughter, Katie Smith (Kevin), grandson, Karter Smith, sister, Karen Rozelle (Ron), brother, Kerry Giese (Kathy), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4-7pm at Dignity Memorial Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, TX.
