He is preceded in death by his parents Robert (1975) and Myrtle Mageors (1998) both of Freeport. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathy Mageors; sons, Steven Mageors (wife Teresa) and Tommy Mageors (wife Jodie). Ron also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ron was born on September 29, 1947, in Goose Creek (Baytown), TX. He moved to Freeport in 1952, attended school at OA Fleming, Freeport Junior High and Brazosport High School (Class of 1966).
Ron spent his working career mostly in the Brazosport / Houston areas in the construction maintenance industries. He was a hardworking and dedicated resident of the Freeport community.
Ron was also a decorated veteran who entered the United States Army in 1969 where he served as a combat infantryman in Vietnam. There was not typically any day where Ron was not openly displaying his veteran status.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2pm. It will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Freeport, TX (1307 W. 5th Street) with a reception to follow.
