Paul Albert Kirkland

Paul Albert Kirkland, born September 2, 1946 to Ima Pauline Bounds and Ernest Lynn Kirkland in Corsicana, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 25, 2017, at the age of 70. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lynn Kirkland; mother, Ima Pauline Bounds Kirkland; mother- and father-in-law, Inger D. Robbins and F.P. Robbins, Jr.; sister, Lynn Beverly Lewis; and niece, Lisa.

Paul loved his family dearly. He also loved hunting and fishing, Amateur Radio Operator Extra Class, call sign AA5CW, and watching older westerns and some newer on cable TV.

He graduated from BISD in 1964, going on to attend Lamar University for a year, serving in an apprenticeship program with I.B.E.W. Local Union 716, Houston, Texas and becoming a Journeyman Electrician. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968, in Fort Hood, Texas, and Frankfurt, Germany. He retired March, 2011.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Anne Robbins Kirkland, to whom he was married 51 years, of Richwood, Texas; sons, David Paul Kirkland of Freeport, Texas and Kenneth Brian Kirkland of Richwood, Texas; brothers-in-law, F.P. Robbins III (wife, Elma Robbins), of Lufkin, Texas; Carl A. Robbins (wife, Elizabeth Robbins), of Fulshear, Texas; niece, Valerie Haugen Nuzzo (husband, Kim); nephew, Clifford O. Haugen, Jr. (wife, Virginia); cousins, Don Wigington, Jr. (wife, Netta), David Wigington (wife, Diane), Norm Wigington (wife, Meador), Merlyn Reed, Diana Hilleary (husband, Michael), Mike Hill, Johnnie Hubbard (husband, Ed), and Meredith Hubbard.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 4, 2017 with a Memorial Service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 W. Plantation Drive, Clute, Texas 77531, (979) 297-2121.
