With his everlasting devotion to God and love of family and friends, Jesse was a quiet patriarch, but always our rock.
Jesse was born on December 25, 1945 in Olivia, Texas, to Jose and Elvira Martinez originally of Palacios, Texas.
Jesse enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the outdoors. On the weekends he was often found on the golf course and once he retired he was thrilled because he was able to golf as often as his heart desired. When not golfing he was out on the boat with his namesake, Jesse Jr. fishing, boat riding, or relaxing on his front porch. Jesse enjoyed and prided himself with firing up the pit for his friends and family and sharing his bar-b-quing skills. Jesse also had a deep compassion for working on vehicles.
Jesse and his loving wife, Margaret were married for 57 and a half years and raised their family in Freeport, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Elvira Martinez and his brothers, Lino (Ester), Pete (Julia), Luis and Joe Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and their three children, Jesse Jr. married to Noemi of Freeport, Priscilla Martinez Cantu of Angleton, and Chris Martinez of Freeport. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, Johnathan (Julie) of Lake Jackson, Jesse III (aka Pookie) and Jace Martinez of Freeport, Lee Jr., Ashlee (Yazmin) Cantu of Angleton and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Anthony, Damian, Remi, Jessenia (aka Jesse Girl) all of Lake Jackson. Jesse is also survived by his siblings, Mary (Frank) Rodriguez, Johnny (RoseAnn), Roy Martinez all of Freeport, Sally Bermea and Victor (Mary) Martinez of Ganado, and William (Debbie) Martinez of Lake Jackson.
