David Ridley, 59, of Lake Jackson, was called to be with the Lord October 27, 2013 at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, at Restwood Funeral Home.
David was born July 20, 1954 in Tampico, Mexico to Lucy Zapata and was later adopted by Stanley Ridley. David worked as a chemist for Dow Chemical for 30 years before his retirement in 2009. He loved to volunteer at The Food Basket and spending time volunteering with the students and his family at T.W. Ogg Elementary school. Above all he loved spending every moment he could with his family. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife and the love of his life of 33 years, Thelma Ridley; children Taylor and Amy Ridley; sister Lenore Haworth; numerous brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the doctors and staff at The Methodist Hospital for the care and compassion they showed to David.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Food Basket located at Wesley Methodist Church in Clute.
