Christine Cook King, age 83, of Lake Jackson, Texas was born Tuesday, October 29, 1929 in Etoile, Texas to Maude (Meador) and Ollie Austin Cook and died at her home in Lake Jackson on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Christine was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Jackson where she taught children’s Sunday School for many years. Besides loving children, she enjoyed painting with oils, sharing stories of her life growing up on a farm in East Texas and helping raise her siblings. She was a Legal Assistant, working for a local law firm for over 20 years. Christine is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maxine Dudley; brother, G. Howard Cook. She is survived by her husband, James King of Lake Jackson, Texas; children, Karen C. Perry and John Kevin King, both, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Katherine C. Perry and Benjamin Austin Perry of Houston, Texas; sisters, Tanya Sue Atkinson of Splendora, Texas, Ollie Mae Garrett of Houston, Texas; brother, Donald R. Cook of Magnolia, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
