Charles “Charlie” C. Bailey, 86, passed away on Wednesday October 28 2015 at the Colonnades in Pearland, TX. Charles was born on July 1 1929 in Baton Rouge, LA to Walter & Myrtle Bailey. Charles graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1945. After High School he attended Louisiana State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree, and two years of post-graduate school. He then served in the United States Air Force for five years as an Electronics and Radar officer in an all-weather Fighter Interceptor. He later settled into a career working in The Dow Chemical Company, first in Louisiana, then Midland Michigan, and in Houston as Human Resources and Labor Relations Manager for the Texas Division.
Charles married Susan in 1978 in Los Angeles, CA. They were happily married for 37 years. He enjoyed working around the house, building, reading, and tending to his vegetable garden.
Charles is survived by his wife Susan; his four daughters, Cindy Bailey, Diane Hromadka (husband Larry), Beverly Colvin (husband Anthony), and Barbara Mullen (husband Greg); the mother of his daughters Eleanor Bailey; six grandchildren, Shelley McDermott (husband Adam), Russell Hromadka (wife Kelli), Matthew Colvin (wife Kasha), Rachel Talley (husband Travis), Drew Colvin (wife Katie) , and Hannah Colvin; six great-grandchildren, and his nephews James (Beaux) & Bobby Bailey.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert & Bill, and his nephew Tommy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 4 2015 from 5pm until 7pm at Restwood Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 5 2015 from 2pm at Restwood Funeral Home.
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests consideration for donations to the Brazoria County SPCA, Houston SPCA, or the Houston Humane Society."
